Scoring Westport’s Only Run

Ricky Offenberg slides into home tonight for Westport’s only run in the New England Regional championship against Lincoln, R. I. Pitcher Chad Knight knocked in the run in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and one out. Knight hit a grounder to Lincoln third baseman Zarek Larisa, who had a play at the plate but bobbled the ball and had to settle for a force out at third, allowing Offenberg to score. Offenberg had led off the inning with a double. CLICK TO ENLARGE) Douglas Healey for WestportNow.com
