Rita Donnerstag, president of Philadelphia-based Douglas Cosmetics, today denied published reports that the Main Street retailer is closing. She said renovations were under way on the second floor of 57 Main St.—one of five U.S. Douglas locations—“but that does not mean we are closing.” Store personnel, when queried, would not comment. A real estate source who spoke on condition of anonymity said he understood there may be a change in Douglas ownership, which is controlled by a Germany-based company. There were rumors that cosmetic vendor Blue Mercury across the street may take over the space. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Wow
I just saw this that they closed. The article above does not surprise me of the lie that Rita did not know, also that employees were tight lipped.
I worked there from 1999-2001
It was run like a tight ship, yes the pay was wonderful, but what I had to endure inside that building NO ONE WOULD EVEN FATHUM. AND when 9/11 happened and I was there that day .. We were not alowed to call lived ones or leave UNTILL hours later. I will never forget one customer as it was playing over the radio.. Never heard the news and acted like I was her slave . And yes over a lipstick .. I finally screamed told her to shut up and listen.. Thousands died at that moment and she before listening told me to go fetch a color , mad we were out of it..
Again I screamed towers hit, pentagon hit terror attack..
And you want a lipstick ?
Yet I was repremanded, and personal calls from family in the city ( fire dept) kept from me as my husband walked over the bridge
Yea Nasty people nasty ” Ruler”
