Rugby Enthusiasts

Rugby has been a varsity sport at Staples High School since 2004 and is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States today. Now, Westport PAL (Police Athletic League) is revving up its fifth through eighth grade boys to get them interested in the sport. It recently hosted its first youth rugby clinic at P.J. Romano Field. Helping out were the Staples staff and team as well as the Fairfield Rugby Club. In the middle of the front row are (l-r) Westport Police Officer Ned Batlin, Steve Perkins, Grant Heller, and David Lyme. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
