Remembering His Grandfather

Among the many who expressed cherished memories today of illustrator Ed Vebell at a Westport Historical Society memorial service was his grandson, Dylan Hoy, 23, a 2013 Staples High School graduate. He said he was close to his grandfather “since the day I was born in the hospital and my grandfather was there.” Hoy said he lived with his parents, Larry and Andra, next door to grandparents Ed and Elsa Vebell “and our families had dinner together every Sunday night.” Vebell died Feb. 9 at 96.
