The Wakeman Town Farm—comprised of the farmhouse, relocated carriage house, and barn at 134 Cross Highway—is among the eight recipients of the Westport Historic District Commission (HDC) 2017 Preservation Awards to be presented in a Town Hall ceremony on Monday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The HDC cited the Wakeman Town Farm Committee, Architect Peter Wormser, and the Westport Public Works Department. The HDC said, “Wakeman Town Farm Committee member, Peter Wormser, longtime Westporter and architect, gifted his time and talent to the design of the Wakeman farmhouse while the Public Works Department oversaw the construction.” The award will be presented by First Selectman Jim Marpe, Historic District Commission Chair Francis Henkels, and members of the Historic District Commission.
