Among the nine winners of the Westport Historic District Commission 2013 Preservation Awards to be presented in a Town Hall ceremony at 7 p.m. on Wednesday is the house at 28 Clinton Ave. The HDC said the award is being given to its owner, Lisa Miceli, in recognition of its rehabilitation. It said, “The Fillow-Wall House was constructed in 1910-11 for Everett Fillow who was one of the original owners of the Fillow Flower Company, which had greenhouses located on both sides of Clinton Avenue. The HDC recognizes the sensitive rehabilitation to the original, wrap-around-porch supported by turned posts, the replication of the original front door, the appropriately scaled expansion of the garage, the replacement of the wooden clapboards, and general maintenance and updating of roof and gutters.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
