Mark Lamos (r), artistic director of the Westport Country Playhouse, tonight hosted a sneak peek program of the Playhouse’s 2017 season. Seated next to him is actor Paxton Whitehead, a familar Playhouse stage presence who will appear in “Lettice and Lovage,” a 1990 Tony Award nominee for Best Play, written by Peter Shaffer, author of “Amadeus.” It is the season opener, playing May 30 through June 17, with Lamos directing.
