The Westport Country Playhouse announced today that due to high ticket demand for its current production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Man of La Mancha,” an extra performance has been added on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m.
The story of Don Quixote’s quest for “The Impossible Dream” begins two and one-half weeks of performances on Tuesday. Director is Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.
“Advance sales have been phenomenal for this much-anticipated musical,” said Beth Huisking, Playhouse general manager. “Our audiences are eager to see this very moving show with an amazing company of actor-singers-dancers. Its message of hope and honor is especially relevant in today’s world.”
“Man of La Mancha” is inspired by Cervantes’ 1615 masterpiece “Don Quixote.” The 1965 Broadway treasure is the winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, with an enchanting score most famous for Quixote’s credo, “The Impossible Dream.”
