Residents who are not currently registered, but would like to vote on Tuesday must come to: Election Day Registration from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave.
Registrars Marla Cowden and Kevin White urged residents to come early.
“The Election Day registration process takes longer than the process for voting at the polls,” they said in a news release.
“Also, the Secretary of the State requires us to cease all Election Day registration activity promptly at 8 p.m.
“Residents whose registrations have not been processed by 8 p.m. will not be allowed to complete the process and will not be able to vote.”
Please note these Identification requirements: A resident must appear in person. Must provide proof of Identity and Residence. Current CT DMV Driver’s/Non-Driver’s License & Learner Permits satisfy both proof of Identity and Residence. (Adhesive strip with change of address acceptable.)
Proof of identity examples: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Passport, College Photo ID, Out-of-State or CT Driver’s License without Westport address change. Oath of registered elector or proof acceptable to both Registrars.
Proof of Residence examples (showing current Westport address): Lease, Paycheck, Bank Statement, Property tax bill, Naturalization documents, Current College/University Registration/Fee Statement, Passport which includes Westport Address, Utility Bill due no later than 30 days post-election.
