Weston resident Orlando Padilla and Chris Kieras, a Shelton resident, are opening a physical fitness business called Integrated Training & Therapies at 38 Franklin St. in the Saugatuck section. The building formerly housed Westport Electric.

Padilla who says that he has been in the fitness field for 18 years, owned One-on-One Personal Training at nearby 15 Franklin St. from 1991 to 2007 when a flood forced closure of his business.

Kieras has been in the field for 12 years and previously operated US Sports Therapy at 1465 Post Road East.

Asked why they are opening a new business in the midst of this recession, Padilla said, “It feels great to open our business now because adversity brings out the best in all of us.”

Kieras who specializes in “injury repair” added, “You’ve got to stay strong at all times…injury doesn’t see the economy.”

The business is expected to open in April with a grand opening in May.
