Moving Day for 1934 WPA Mural

Today was moving day for the historic Works Progress Administration (WPA) “Pageant of Juvenile Literature” mural in the Westport Library’s Great Hall by Robert Lambdin. Painted in 1934, it has been at the library since 1992 after it had been removed from the Saugatuck Elementary School. Because of the library’s transformation project, it will be transported to Staples High School where it will be staged in the auditorium lobby. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
