The event is the library’s signature fundraising effort and recipients are individuals whose work reflects the purpose of the library — to nurture the love of learning and to enhance understanding of the world, according to the library’s newsletter.
Chiu has performed on five continents, in all 50 states and in many unusual venues.
With his wife and collaborator Jeanine Esposito, he created the arts nonprofit Beechwood Arts & Innovation, fostering collaboration across all genres and deepening community connection through art and technology.
The 21st annual signature fundraising event will be the inaugural program in the Christian J. Trefz Forum, the library’s newly transformed, premier entertainment space. Individual tickets will go on sale May 10.
