Westport Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon (r) tonight outlined his proposed budget reductions to satisfy a $1.4 million cut in the Board of Education’s proposed 2.06 percent increase in its 2009-10 budget made by the Board of Finance and sustained by the Representative Town Meeting. Landon said about $400,000 of the cuts will be made in the maintenance line, but he emphasized nothing would be sacrificed regarding air quality in the schools. Listening are board members (l-r) Faith Taylor, James Marpe and Don O’Day. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
