It said the season finale of the comedy series on May 21 will include four original songs by Paul, whose works include “The Greatest Showman” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”

Oscar, Tony, and Golden Globes winner Paul was born in Missouri and raised in Westport where he attended Long Lots Elementary School, Coleytown Middle School and Staples.

ABC said the season finale plot has star Katy Mixon, frustrated by the lack of appreciation for all she does, deciding to go “full-Westport” and leaving her family to fend for themselves.

The news was unveiled ahead of “American Housewife’s” return Tuesday in its new 8 p.m. anchor slot. It moved from Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m.

The half-hour comedy, originally called “The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport,” debuted Oct. 4, 2016.

Mixon plays Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, as she raises her flawed family in Westport, which is portrayed as filled with “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” offspring.

The fiction Westport has close ties to the real Westport.

Kenny Schwartz, a 1985 Staples High School graduate, is an executive producer. Mixon’s co-star, Diedrich Bader, who plays her husband, is married to actress Dulcy Rogers, a 1982 Staples High School graduate.
