Juilliard Jazz Musicians Visit Greens Farms Academy

Westport’s Greens Farms Academy students with musical interests were treated today to various coaching sessions conducted by four jazz musician residents from the Juilliard Jazz Ensemble Residency program of New York’s Juilliard School.  According to Rex Cadwallader, chair, GFA Performing Arts, this is the second year in an expanding relationship between GFA and the Juilliard School. He said that about 150 fifth through 12th grade students participated in the today’s coaching exercise.  Pictured are Juilliard Jazz Ensemble resident John Chin coaching GFA junior Jon Bauerfeld of Wilton with (l-r) Juilliard Jazz Ensemble residents Ed Howard, bass, Luca Santaniello, drums, and Andrew Gutauskas, saxophone.
