Jazz Professionals Coach Staples Jazz Ensemble

Jazz professionals Greg Wall (standing), known as the Jazz Rabbi, and Steve Johns (seated) were guests at the Staples High School Jazz Ensemble Band practice session Thursday. According to Staples Director of Bands Phil Giampietro, it was the first in a series involving the Jazz Society of Fairfield County (FSFC) with the Staples Jazz Band Ensemble. Giampietro said, “we invited Greg and Steve who are jazz clinicians and provide an outside view and opinion of our band and musical arrangement.”  He added, “This may even lead to Staples jazz musicians sitting in with the professionals at a future gig at the Pearl Restaurant” at Longshore.
