The four-acre property at 106 Beachside Ave. was listed in 2005 and 2009 for $30 million, in 2011 for $24.95 million, and the most recent price was set at $19.9 million. The town’s tax assessor appraised it at $13.5 million.

Town Clerk Patricia Strauss said the sale was recorded Thursday with the buyer listed as Flying Dutchman Investeringen Limited with a post office box address in St. Peter Port on the Isle of Guernsey, a British Crown dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy.

The estate has a 10,000-square-foot Georgian Revival-style main house with six bedrooms, a guest house and a gatehouse. It also has 215 feet of sandy beach frontage.

The Imuses bought the property in 1997 for $4.6 million and completed the home in 2000. Annual taxes are $169,407. The town reaped $36,000 in conveyance taxes on the sale.

Listing broker Darlene Letersky of Coldwell Banker has said the couple was selling because they use the property infrequently. The transfer document listed their home as Manhattan.

Imus, 72, signed a contract in December extending his syndicated “Imus in the Morning” program through 2015. It is simulcast on the Fox Business Network.

Another celebrity couple on Beachside Avenue also have their home on the market.

Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas put their property overlooking Long Island Sound on the market in May 2012 for $27.5 million, a record if the 7.56-acre estate sells at the asking price. (See WestportNow May 19, 2012)

The celebrity couple—he is best known as a longtime TV talk show host, she for her “That Girl” TV series—bought the property at 120-122 Beachside Ave. in 1998.

They had come under criticism in 1988 for demolishing a 1962-built experimental, all-concrete house on an adjoining property—which they sold in 2006 for $25 million, the current high for a Westport residential property.  (See WestportNow May 1, 2006)
