An HSBC bank branch has opened at 19 Post Road East in the one-time Westport Public Library building that now also houses Starbucks. Another HSBC branch is scheduled to open soon at 1050 Post Road East, current home of Swanky Frank’s. There are about two dozen bank branches in Westport with an additional six in the planning stages, according to town officials. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Great, just what we needed. What is going on with these banks??!!
Now if we can just get these banks to start selling burgers, order will be returned to the universe.
Morristown NJ had to enact local zoning to prevent too many banks from taking over their downtown area. I think this is a situation for us as well. More banks downtown = less reason to bother coming downtown.
I don’t know about anyone else, but when I see another bank building where something interesting might have been, my hostility level rises almost as much as when I get my weekly 100 credit card offers from capitalone.
