Honoring Our Heritage: 6 Watch Hill

The owners of the house at 6 Watch Hill, off Compo Road North, are the newest recipients of a Westport Historical Society (WHS) historical plaque. Bob Weingarten (r), WHS plaque historian, presented the plaque identifying it as the Ida E. Violet House c.1923, to Thomas and Karen Engelke, owners since 2016. According to Weingarten, the house was built on what had been a nine-acre property that was part of the Lewis H. Whitney homestead.
