The owners of the house at 21 Clinton Ave. are the newest recipients of an historical plaque by the Westport Museum for History and Culture, formerly the Westport Historical Society.  Bob Weingarten (r), house historian and plaque coordinator, presented the plaque, identified as the Samuel Gilbertie House, c. 1915, to the Block family. According to Weingarten, the plaque honors the heritage of the house, originally owned by Gilbertie, a florist, who purchased the land from A. G. Southey in 1913 and built this house in 1915. The Blocks, former National Geographic documentary TV producers, moved to Westport from Brooklyn, New York in 2010. in August, they moved to the Bayberry Lane area but chose to retain ownership of the Clinton Avenue house because, as Anne Marie Block said, “We have much affection for it.” Pictured (back row) Max and Anne Marie Block, Weingarten (front row) their children, (l-r) twins Sienna and Hudson, 10, and Sebastian, 8.
