Honoring a ‘Green’ Office Building

An office building at 500 Post Road East is the first recipient in Westport’s new Sustainable Design and Construction Awards program, part of an effort to become a NetZero community by the year 2050. Making the presentation to Timon Malloy (2nd r), president of building owner Fred F. French Investing LLC, were First Selectman Jim Marpe and Green Task Force members. The 37,800-square foot building includes 247 solar panels that Green Task Force Chair David Mann (l) says generates energy equal to what is required of eight large Westport residences.
