Holiday Crowds Fill Sherwood Island State Park

People headed to Westport’s Sherwood Island State Park today to seek relief from the 4th of July 90-degree heat. Park Supervisor Jim Beschle said July 4 is really the kickoff for the season. “Many people think it’s Memorial Day, but we find larger crowds starting July 4 because the kids are out of school by then,” he said.
