The building at Westport’s 580 Riverside Ave. was demolished today. Built in 1929, the 3,100-square foot building is part of the development plan for the expanding Saugatuck Center. Former tenants include Westport Florist, and a beauty salon. The property, adjacent to the former Doc’s Cafe which was demolished on Monday, is owned by William Gault and is part of the Saugatuck Center development project which includes a mix of retail space and residences. It was the WestportNow Teardown of the Day on March 12, 2007. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
