Should the proposed zoning text amendment that the P&Z will be hearing beginning on September 7th be approved, this is exactly the type of property that will become the target of high-density condominium developers. At 1.19 acres, this lot would become eligible for 17 condo units with 80% lot coverage. Practically all of Westport below the Merritt will be subject to this type of high-density residential pressures, with 12 sold at market prices ($900K or so from what realtors tell me) and 5 for the affordable price of $200-300K. This will be the Westport of the future (crowded beyond belief), unless this text-amendment is stopped. I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is coming. And it is coming very fast…..
For a copy of the text-amendment, or if you would like to learn more about this topic, please email me at John@GorhamNeighbors.org.
