Going Down: 346 Compo Road South

The demolition of the barn behind the residence at 346 Compo Road South is lovingly being dismantled by Chuck Penn (l)  and Ralph Merlo, friends of the former owners of the property. According to Merlo, the new and former owners came to an agreement that the barn components could be removed from the property by hand rather than by traditional demolition equipment.  Merlo said that the former owners plan to salvage the barn components – “wood slabs, beams etc” – and incorporate them into a new residence to be built in the Newport, R.I. area.
