Hilary Lewis, chief curator and creative director of the Philip Johnson’s famed architectural creation Glass House in New Canaan told guests tonight at the Westport Historical Society (WHS) about the preservation of the iconic Fairfield County landmark. The talk is an expansion of the WHS current exhibit, “06880 + 50,” on proposed future changes of the Westport landscape. An architectural historian and urban planner, Lewis has studied Philip Johnson’s work for more than 25 years. She spent over a decade working directly with Johnson on texts, exhibitions, and a multi-year project of recording his memoirs. She is the co-author of “Philip Johnson: The Architect in His Own Words and The Architecture of Philip Johnson.” Johnson died in 2005 at age 99. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
