The top-seeded Staples HIgh School Girls’ Golf Team brought home the FCIAC championship today held at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Bridgeport. The Wreckers last won the championship in 2007, and have been runner-ups nine times, including in the past four years to Greenwich. “It was exciting and vey close until our final golfer, Anelise Browne, handed her scorecard to the officials with a 78,” said Coach Patty Kondub. “Her Staples’ record-setting FCIAC round pushed the team to victory. Every player did their part with solid scores to contribute to our win.” Pictured are (l-r)) Co-Captain Alex McMahon, Erkia MacDonald, Co-Captain Anelise Browne, Sophie Carozza, Olivia Wood, Abigail Miller and Coach Kondub.
