As many Westporters experienced day five today without power, Eversource said it had made “significant progress” overnight in its power restoration efforts.
As of 1:53 p.m. today, the utility said 38%, or 4,500, of its Westport customers remained without power, down from 81% late Friday.
Eversource said substantially all Westport customers will have power restored by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
The outage was on the scale of power disruptions following Superstorm Sandy in 2012 when some Westport customers were out for eight days.
