WestportNow.com Image
The Dunkin’ Donuts shop in Westport’s Bridge Square (see WestportNow Feb. 4, 2011) will open by either the first or second week of March, according to general contractor Jim McMahon (foreground, back to camera) of Waterbury-based Coffee House Construction. McMahon, who said he has renovated more than 100 Dunkin’ Donuts shops for a variety of owners over the past 18 years, said the new equipment will be installed Monday and then final hook-ups of electric, plumbing and HVAC will follow. 1. Seems a bit ironic that, on the same day, we read about the town celebration of “Take Care of Your Heart Day” and the opening of another Dunkin’ Donuts.

    Surly the two are antithetical.

  2. Glad to see the space being occupied, and frankly, Dunkin Donuts sells pretty good coffee.

Skip the donuts there, at Docs, or at Starbucks if that’s your thing.

  3. Diane,

It should be. They have agreed to make the signs wood not plastic and use nice lighting. There will be no free standing sign.  They will also keep the Bridge Square sign, just move it to the south on the side of the building.

Knowing they are the first national chain to come into the area (hopely the only one) they have tried to do the right thing. We’ll see soon if it looks live how it looked on paper.
