Disc Golf at Sherwood Island State Park

An 18 “hole” disc golf course has been installed at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. Steve Ditter, a member of the New England Flying Disc Association, traveled from Middletown for the first time in order to play the course. Disc golf is a flying disc game, as well as a precision and accuracy sport, in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target. The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Julia Mally for WestportNow.com
