Staples High School this weekend hosts the 41st annual Westport Young Woman’s League’s (WYWL) CraftWestport show.
The event features more than 175 fine contemporary artists and craftspeople from the region and across the country in what has become Connecticut’s largest indoor fine crafts festival.
Visitors will be able to meet visionary artists and purchase their latest work as well as help to raise money for local charities, an announcement said.
The show includes one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry, fashion and accessories, furniture, and home décor pieces as well as functional and sculptural work in ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, wood and mixed media, organizers said.
Returning for its fourth year is a pop-up marketplace of local artists who will feature fun, budget-friendly items great for the holiday season, the announcement said.
Tasty local treats will also be available at the show by Griswald-based Keifers Kettle Korn and bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup by Bridgeport-based Dorset Maple Reserve. Baked goods will also be available for purchase.
The event will be held at the fieldhouse Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $10; seniors (62 and older) $9; children 12-17 are $5; children under 12 are free. Admission is good for all weekend. For more information call 845-331-7900 or visit http://www.craftwestport.com.
Net proceeds from admission fees will be distributed to local charitable agencies in lower Fairfield County by the WYWL.
