Comings & Goings: Steam Opens at Green’s Farms Station

A new coffee, bakery and sandwich shop, Steam, opened today at the Green’s Farms Metro-North station. Co-owners Briana Pennell and Chris Barrett were awarded the right to use the site in a Town of Westport competitive bid process that also won them the concession at the Westport station in Saugatuck, expected to open in the fall. Norwalk resident Pennell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, is a pastry chef. Barrett, a Stamford resident, has a background in the restaurant business. Pennell said offerings include coffee, tea, fresh juices, pastries and bagels. Hours are 5 a.m.-noon, Monday to Friday. “For now we won’t be open on weekends,” Pennell said.
