Comings & Goings: Pompanoosic Out, Bassett In

Pompanoosic Mills, 1100 Post Road East, will move after 10 years in its current location, but the exact timing has not yet been determined, according to a longtime employee of the handcrafted furniture store, who asked not to be identified. “The space is too large for us here,” she said. “We may select another Post Road location, either in the direction of Fairfield or near the Westport/Norwalk line. We are not going out of business.” Moving in will be Bassett Furniture, which also plans to occupy the adjoining space which is currently vacant Pompanoosic Mills, a Vermont-based designer and manufacturer since 1973, has 13 stores including two in Connecticut – Hartford and Westport. Bassett’s current Connecticut locations include Newington, Brookfield and Orange. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
