Comings & Goings: Olympia Sports Closing

Bargain hunters today converged on Olympia Sports, a retail sporting goods store at 403 Post Road East in the Compo Shopping Center, as word spread it will close on Jan. 31. The company, founded in 1975 in Portland, Maine, currently has 152 locations, mostly across New England, New York, and the Mid-Atlantic. Last week, sports retailer JackRabbit acquired 75 of its stores with 76, including Westport, not part of the acquisition and closing. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
