Comings & Goings: Nike Running to Close

An employee today confirmed a longtime rumor that the Nike Running store, 69 Main St., will close by end of 2017. The employee said the Nike trend now is to limit retail locations to “outlets and large cities.” The store opened in November 2011 and suffered severe flooding during Super Storm Sandy in 2012. One local real estate source estimated there are now 10 vacancies or availabilities in the Main Street area, one of the highest such rates in recent years.
