Comings & Goings: Greens Farms Spirit Changes Hands

The Greens Farms Spirits Shop, 1250 Post Road East, is under new ownership after more than 49 years in business. According to owner Jack Riley (l), who opened the shop in November 1969, the new owner is Nick Conti of Berlin, Connecticut, who also owns three other wine and liquor stores — Save Rite in North Haven, and Ye Olde Spirits in West Haven and Wallingford. Riley said his last day of employment at the shop is Saturday and will then be managed by Rob Pelletier (r), a 17-year employee of Riley’s business. Riley said after his house is sold he and his wife will build a new house in Paso Robles, California where his son, Tim, 39, lives. Riley’s son Kevin, 40, lives in Carmel, California.
