Comings & Goings: Country Liquor Closes

Country Liquor, Wine & Spirits, 332 Wilton Road, aka 84 Newtown Turnpike, has closed. According to Steve Crowley, owner of the building since 1992, the store was one of the oldest liquor stores in Westport. He said its various ownerships date back to the 1950s and the most recent business owner was at the helm for the past six years. Adjacent to the Country General Store, the structure was built in 1900. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
