A.S Fine Foods of Westport will open in October at 361 Post Road West, according to co-owner Albert Pizzirusso, a Westporter.

The location is in the shopping strip anchored on the east end by People’s United Bank and Kibberia Middle Eastern restaurant on the west.
Pizzirusso, a Westport resident for the past 15 years and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), class of 1992, is co-owner with Erik Cohen.
Pizzirusso said for 10 years following his graduation from CIA he worked at first class eateries in New York including Four Seasons, Rainbow Room and the Ritz Carlton.
In addition to Pizzirusso and Cohen, Chef David Garcia is a management partner.
Pizzirusso describes the range of takeout-only offerings as “prepared foods, prime and organic meats and chicken, an espresso and coffee bar, specialty olive oils, cheeses and specialty sandwiches.”
“It’s an all-takeout operation, no seating,” he said.
He said the fresh meats will come from Vincent Market in the Bronx’s Arthur Avenue.
Currently Pizzirusso and Cohen co-own one other A.S Fine Foods, 856 High Ridge Road, Stamford which they opened 2002. Like the Westport location it’s a combination of retail and full service, off-premises catering.
The Westport website, not yet activated, will be http://www.asfinefoodswestport.com.
The Westport space was previously occupied by Froyo World frozen yogurt shop that opened in June 2012 and closed in November 2014.
