Comings and Goings: Photozip Closing on Post Road East

WestportNow.com Image
After 28 years in the same location, Photozip at 1779 Post Road East in Westport is closing. Owner Bruno Cos, 73, of Stamford said he is closing the store offering one-hour film developing and photo finishing services “because the economy and everything else is going against us.”  “What could we do? (We’re) losing money left and right,” he said. Cos said all the big chains sell photographic prints “for half the price that I need to sell them” and that the popularity of digital cameras has reduced the need for his business services. “I feel sad about closing, but on the other hand I’m 73 and maybe it’s mother nature giving me a call,” he said. 1. I will miss Photozip and the gentlemen Bruno and Chuck. They printed and reprinted my pictures…of all sizes & did it so willingly. I am Technically challanged.so..I am hoping I find another photo store to do & help me with my photos!  Good luck in your new “life” and thank you so much Bruno & Chuck!  Betty Lou Cummings

  2. I will miss Photozip as well! I took a photography class at Staples three years ago, and I got my slide photography processed here.

We see the signs everywhere and cynicism abounds regarding the matter, but I suppose this is yet another reminder of the decline of the irreplaceable art of film photography.
