When the GAP stores move to their new location up Westport’s Main Street in coming months, their place at 66-69 Main St. will be taken by Nike and the trendy Theory clothing store, according to a real estate source. In addition, the source said Brooks Brothers Women will expand its space at 125 Main St. when the GAP stores move into that building now under renovation. Well so much for mom and pops coming in there. If could have been a location for a number of smaller stores to set up shop, but nope, same old same old.
I’m all for local stores, but if that’s not what the market wants…
I’m actually quite excited about Nike and Theory coming to this space. They’re both great retailers and they’ll add to the prestige and convenience of our downtown shopping area. I’ve seen some of their other local stores in similar communities, and they are both tasteful and popular. I welcome these great additions.
