According to owner Sergio Keskin, 42, the shop is now open from noon to 9 p.m. “except when there’s a blizzard or something like that.”
He calls this a “soft opening” until the grand opening which is scheduled for Feb. 15. “Meanwhile we’re playing it by the weather,” he said.
Keskin, a resident of Trumbull, said that this is his fifth Sunny Daes shop. His first was in Stamford in 1999. Two others followed in Fairfield in 2001 and 2002, and the most recent in Trumbull in 2006.
According to Keskin, he opened the Westport shop because so many of his Westport customers who frequented the Fairfield shops often asked why not open one in Westport? ![]()

“When customers ask me for something, I’ll do anything for them,” he said.
According to Keskin, Sunny Daes offers 48 flavors of ice cream and 20 flavors of gelato. “We’re the only ice cream place around with 68 flavors,” he said.
Keskin said that Sunny Daes is different from any other ice cream shop because Sunny Daes sells gelato, ice cream—both hard and soft, frozen yogurt, soft-serve ice cream, and ice cream cakes. “We’re a full-service ice cream shop,” he said.
