Bogey’s Grille & Tap Room, 323 Main St., has closed its doors after 17 years. A sign on the door says: “After 17 years of being in business, we regret to inform you that we have officially closed our doors. We had a great run and will miss serving all of you. Thank you very much for your patronage and loyalty over the years.” A Westport institution, Bogey’s was the last of a succession of restaurants on that corner starting with Crossroads, Oliver’s and A Stone’s Throw. It was under the ownership of Jim and John Stablein. Westporter Brendan Donahoe, who once was a bartender at Stone’s Throw, said, “No one knew about this. No one knew it would close.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

So sad. They ran a good ship. It was always a fun place to go, and they made you feel welcome.
Best of luck to the owners and staff.
It was a good honest and unpretentious place. I still contend their wings were better than the Black Ducks. I will miss it and good luck to the staff and owners in their future endeavors.
I’m in a stunned silence. Loved their ribs and their wings were the best in the area. The bolognese was my “comfort” food. Whenever folks would ask at our office where to go for lunch or dinner with their kids, I always told them Bogey’s. I guess the hurricane floods just pushed them over the edge. Good luck to Jimmy and Johnny and the rest of their crew.
We’re losing a good neighbor. Your staff was always so welcoming. From our family to yours, we wish you the best.
Fairwell Amy Alcott and Arnold Palmer!
You were the best !
Best wishes to all the great folks who worked there!
Thanks for all the great food and good times!
