Comings and Goings: Agabhumi Closes on PRE

Agabhumi, a retail store at 165 Post Road East, across from the former main post office, has closed. “We just weren’t making it in Westport—it’s frustrating,” said owner Owner Michael Kirshbaum. He said other Agabhumi stores in Stamdord, Santa Monica, Calif., and Barbados remain open and “in four to six weeks we’ll open a new store on Chapel Street in New Haven.”  Agabhumi specialized in jewelry and accessories crafted by Bali, Indonesia artisans. The shop opened in Westport in October 2009.(CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
