Today was Round 2 of the Westport Farmers Market Chef-at-the-Market Competition. Three renowned local chefs, Matt Storch of Westport’s Match Burger Lobster, Adam Roytman of Norwalk’s Bar Sugo, and Jeff Taibe of Bethel’s Taproot, competed to create a dish using market ingredients. Winner as judged by randomly selected market visitors was Taibe with his “Tosazu cured scallops with ponzu marinated strawberries cucumbers with pickled wasabi stems.” Taibe is brother of Bill Taibe (sunglasses, rear), owner of Westport’s Jesup Hall, Kawa Ni, and The Whelk restaurants.
