Official announcement of the appointment is expected next week when she officially starts, according to a member of the Chamber board, but the Chamber website already lists her as executive director.
The executive director position at the Chamber has been vacant since February 2011 when Lisa Thygerson, executive director since May 2009, resigned to take a position as manager of a Citibank branch in Stratford.
A communications graduate of Duquesne University, Gray has recently served as a court-appointed advocate on behalf of children in care of the Department of Children and Families.
At the Saugatuck Congregational Church, she has served in numerous positions since 2002, including as a deacon on the board of directors. She has volunteered at Bedford Middle School and Saugatuck Elementary School in various capacities as well as with Westport P.A.L. Girls Lacrosse, the Westport Little League, and Westport New Neighbors.
Her business background includes sales, marketing, and business development positions with Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics and several other companies.
