Staples Defeats Greenwich 38-21

Staples football defeated Greenwich 38-21 today at Greenwich.

The Wrecker win spoiled the Cardinals’ chance of making the FCIAC finals, payback for when Greenwich acted as spoiler a year ago when Staples needed a win to advance to the Class LL Tournament.

Greenwich went into today’s game, at times played in swirling snow showers, with a seven-game winning streak against the No. 9th-ranked Wreckers.

Staples and Greenwich end their season with identical 7-4 records.
