The Dialectical & Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center has leased the building’s 2,500 square feet, as it plans to relocate from its 29 Imperial Ave. location.
“We are looking forward to moving into our new, custom-built offices in a central location,” Kevin Holtzman, a psychologist and founder of the therapy group, said about the move.
The building is located near the Westport Country Playhouse at 25 Powers Court. All of the property was originally part of a slaughterhouse used for a New York City leather manufacturer in the hat trade, according to the Westport Historical Society (WHS).

Rajat Gupta: new allegations made. File photo
A new indictment filed in Manhattan federal court expanded the period in which Gupta, 63, supposedly provided illegal tips to his friend Raj Rajaratnam, the Galleon Group hedge fund founder now serving an 11-year prison term following his insider trading conviction.
The charges now relate to trades that prosecutors said Rajaratnam made between March 2007 and January 2009 in the stock of Goldman and Procter & Gamble Co., where Gupta was also a director.
Gupta, a former chief of the consulting firm McKinsey & Co., is the most prominent corporate executive to face insider trading charges in a wide-ranging federal probe since Rajaratnam was arrested in October 2009. He has pleaded not guilty.

And Connecticut?
Westporter Tony Kobylinski is thinking.
Kobylinski, whose New York ad firm this month got a piece of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s $22 million state marketing campaign, says the most demanding task will be to develop “a brand for the state.”
“I think one of the biggest challenges is to bring the Connecticut DNA to the forefront because right now there’s really a lack of any kind of brand for the state,” said Kobylinski, creative director for Chowder, Inc., one of four companies hired from 21 proposals for the two-year campaign.
“I really think of it as Connecticut’s DNA, and that’s what we’re trying to find an uncover,” added the Westport resident of 15 years. “I know it’s there.”

Official announcement of the appointment is expected next week when she officially starts, according to a member of the Chamber board, but the Chamber website already lists her as executive director.
The executive director position at the Chamber has been vacant since February 2011 when Lisa Thygerson, executive director since May 2009, resigned to take a position as manager of a Citibank branch in Stratford.
A communications graduate of Duquesne University, Gray has recently served as a court-appointed advocate on behalf of children in care of the Department of Children and Families.

Whelk, the newest addition to the burgeoning restaurant scene in Westport’s Saugatuck section, opens the weekend of Jan. 27, according to co-owner Massimo Tullio (r). His partner is Bill Taibe, owner of the popular LeFarm Restaurant in Colonial Square. Tullio, who describes the restaurant fare as “sophisticated casual dining,” said it will offer seafood selections with “smaller plates than LeFarm portions and have the feel of southern France.” He said the 1,200 square feet restaurant (not including its 600-square foot kitchen) will accept reservations for its bench tables along the window side next to Riverside Avenue. “We differ from LeFarm in that we specialize in seafood and have a bar,” he said. Malloy to Push for Eased Alcohol Restrictions
By Keith M. Phaneuf
With an announcement timed to make the Sunday newspapers, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy intends to propose a series of changes Saturday in the state’s restrictive alcohol laws, including a repeal of minimum pricing and the ban on Sunday sales.
Administration officials say Malloy will explain his proposal in Enfield, one of the border towns where package-store owners have broken with the rest of what is a mom-and-pop industry and asked to compete with longer hours of operation and flexible pricing.
Aside from the convenience of being able to shop on Sunday or as late as 10 p.m., consumers could see lower prices for alcohol, one of the products for which Connecticut long has had a “minimum markup.”
The Malloy administration hopes to realize greater tax revenues from the longer hours and Sunday sales, but the main goal is a more competitive regulatory structure that yields lower prices for consumers and discourages state residents from crossing into New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island for alcohol.
