WestportNow.com Image
It is uncertain as to whether the Bagel Maven, 538 Post Road East, will close its doors for good on Tuesday, the final day of its lease, according to Alex Perdomo, owner for the past six years. Perdomo said, “It was a tough winter for us, and I fell behind in my rent payments, but over time managed to pay it back.” He said his landlord, whom he described as “great to work with,” does not want to renew the lease, but he hopes to work something out. Perdomo said he does not want to have to look for a new space because “my customers are in this area of town.” He said although he became owner of Bagel Maven six years ago, the business has been at that location since 1990.
