Joseph Romeo, who has operated Joey’s By the Shore at Compo Beach for more than 30 years, is out as a Parks and Recreation Department concessionaire. An announcement said Romeo, who opened Joey’s in 1988, has advised the town he will not pay the full rent due in 2019 nor fulfill his three years remaining under the lease.
