“Our makers are the reason why people attend our event,” said Mark Mathias, founder and president of Remarkable STEAM, Inc. and producer of Maker Faire Connecticut. “People come to see and interact with makers from all disciplines.”

Mathias said he expects attendances at the expanded, weekend Staples venue to reach between 15,000 and 20,000.

“This year more than ever, we are adding creative, innovative businesses in our roster of makers to augment our traditional history of creative makers,” Mathias said. “This broadens the opportunity for attendees to find more value—and fun—by attending,” he added.

Mathias said makers of all ages—ranging from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers—should apply online at: https://connecticut.makerfaire.com/call-for-makers

The application deadline to apply is Feb. 29, and as maker applications are processed, they will appear on the website and social media.

Mathias said more announcements will be mad; information available at https://connecticut.makerfaire.com.
